Why EcoFlow Is on My Wishlist

I’ve been thinking lately about how much I rely on electricity without even realizing it. My phone, laptop, Wi-Fi, and pretty much everything else I use throughout the day need to be charged or plugged in.
And while I don’t usually think about power outages or being somewhere without electricity, I love the idea of having a backup plan that doesn’t involve a noisy generator or a complicated setup.
That’s how I came across EcoFlow.
The brand makes portable power stations, solar generators, and home backup systems, but what caught my attention was how practical some of its products seem for everyday life.
After browsing the collection, I found a few things I’d genuinely consider adding to my home or taking along on a weekend trip.
What I Like About the Idea
I’m not someone who’s planning to live completely off-grid, and I don’t need a huge energy system for my house.
What I do like is having options.
Being able to charge my laptop during a power outage, keep a few essentials running, or spend a weekend somewhere peaceful without worrying about my devices sounds pretty convenient.
I also like that these power stations can be recharged and reused rather than relying on disposable batteries.
And the fact that many models support solar charging makes the whole concept even more interesting.
The Products That Caught My Attention

If I wanted something specifically for home emergencies, I’d look at this model. Its 4,096Wh capacity makes it suitable for more demanding backup needs.

This one feels like the most versatile option for me. With 1,024Wh of battery capacity, it’s a more substantial choice for working from home, travelling, or having backup electricity available.

I love the idea of charging a portable battery using sunlight. This folding panel is especially interesting for camping, outdoor activities, and longer trips.

This is probably the first model I’d consider for travelling. It’s compact, has a 286Wh battery, and seems like a practical option for charging smaller electronics during weekend trips.
The Good, the Practical & the Things I’d Consider
After looking through the collection, I realized that choosing a portable power station isn’t necessarily about finding the most powerful one.
It’s about figuring out what would actually make sense for my lifestyle.
I love the idea of having backup electricity available, but I also know I wouldn’t want to spend more than necessary on features I’d rarely use.
Here’s how I’d weigh up the options.
| Product | What I love | What gives me pause |
|---|---|---|
| RIVER 3 Plus | Compact and easy to take anywhere | Smaller battery capacity |
| DELTA 3 Plus | Great balance of power and versatility | A little heavier for travel |
| DELTA Pro 3 | Substantial home backup capacity | Bigger investment and less portable |
| NextGen 220W Solar Panel | Charging with sunlight | Depends on weather conditions |
I think each has its place. It really comes down to whether you’re shopping for everyday convenience, occasional adventures, or something more substantial for your home.
If I Could Only Choose One…
I’d probably go with the DELTA 3 Plus.
There’s something appealing about buying one product that can be useful in several different situations.
I could keep it at home for unexpected outages, bring it along on a longer road trip, or use it when I want to work somewhere without easy access to electricity.
It feels like the option I’d get the most use out of, without going overboard.
Of course, I’d still compare the final price, weight, and accessories before making a decision.
A Little Luxury I Didn’t Know I Wanted
Here’s the funny thing: I started looking at portable power stations for practical reasons, but ended up thinking about all the little ways one could make life more comfortable.
A weekend away somewhere peaceful, with my laptop charged, a good cup of coffee, and no need to worry about finding an outlet.
Or one of those evenings when the power suddenly goes out, and instead of searching for candles and watching my phone battery disappear, I already have a backup.
It’s not exactly a glamorous purchase, but perhaps that’s what makes it appealing.
Sometimes, the things that make the biggest difference aren’t the most exciting purchases at first glance.
My Final Take
What I appreciate about EcoFlow is how its products make something as technical as electricity feel surprisingly approachable.
I don’t need the biggest battery or the most advanced setup. I’d just like something dependable, easy to use, and versatile enough to fit into my everyday life.
For now, the DELTA 3 Plus is still my favourite, although I can definitely see the appeal of the smaller RIVER 3 Plus for travelling.
I haven’t tried these products personally, but they’re staying on my wishlist.
And who knows? Maybe my next weekend getaway will be the perfect excuse to finally invest in one.
