Thanks for the clarification, Ed. Yes, that is the goal of many, and also looking for volunteers. Just after I posted this piece I had another Obama canvasser knock at my door checking just that. Not sure if there were aware that there already was another canvasser in the neighborhood just a couple of hours earlier. Maybe I should have mentioned that (thinking in hindsight).

I think many canvassing efforts are based on identifying supporters then on voter turn-out rather than swaying people’s positions. Either way, I think just about every registered voter in Minneapolis is going to make it to the polls this time.

My grandfather, Joseph Knoedgen, founded Pioneer Sausage and it brings me great pleasure and honor to know that the traditions my grandfather began were carried on and still remembered by the people of St. Paul. It warms my heart to know that my grandpa’s legacy continued on with those who proceeded him in ownership. A special thank you to you, your family and father.

Hey R! Thanks for the comment! I honestly have to say, knowing Joe, “sober” and “measured tone” are two terms I never would have used to describe him, but he did do a good job on the phone.
